I heard she made deals in whispers, trading rides for secrets, and if you lied she’d leave a black scratch on your name that never washed off. One night I watched her sit there, hands folded, perfectly still, as if waiting for someone who promised they’d come back. The rain kept falling, the red paint kept shining, and for a second I thought the whole city was holding its breath, hoping she’d finally drive away and let the past stop following.
