The Whale Above Noon art print
story of The Whale Above Noon art print:
The first time Mara saw the whale, it wasn’t in the sea at all, it was hanging in the bright mustard sky like it had forgotten where it belonged. She was on the shore after a storm, pockets full of soggy newspaper scraps and torn posters she swore she’d throw away, but never did. The waves kept crashing like they were trying to tell her something, and the whale above them opened its mouth in a silent yawn, showing soft pink lines like old curtains. Back home she glued the day together on a board, sand still stuck to her fingers, and the whale came out darker than she remembered, speckled with salt and ink. She says its a sign that even heavy things can rise, even when you feel stuck at the bottom, even when the world looks all wrong and too yellow.
