He walked like he owned the afternoon, cuffed trousers swinging over a black-and-white floor that wasnt supposed to be outside at all. In each hand he carried a bottle of bright yellow soda, like he’d stolen sunlight from a vending machine and didnt even feel bad about it. The pig followed him, polite as a shadow, snuffling along the edge of the scene where the grass turns into paint and the sky looks pasted on crooked. They’d met that morning at the market when an orange rolled away from a torn bag and the pig nudged it back with its nose, like a small favor that changes your whole day. He kept walking, not sure where he was going, only that the checkered path would eventually lead to something true, something simple, maybe just a place where mistakes dont echo so loud.
