Lobster Coat, Soft Flowers art print
story of Lobster Coat, Soft Flowers art print:
He showed up to the studio in silence, like he’d been walking through fog for miles, and sat down with a lobster draped over his chest as if it was a borrowed jacket. Everyone laughed at first, but the joke didnt land, because his face was tired in that honest way, the way grief makes you look older. He said the lobster was a promise from the dock, a thing that pinches you so you remember you’re still here, still breathing. To the side he set three pale flowers he’d picked behind the fish market, petals bruised and shy, smelling faintly of salt and diesel. “The sea taught me armor,” he muttered, “but the garden taught me to stay soft.” When the day ended, he left the lobster on the chair and took only the flowers, like he finally chose tenderness over protection, even if it hurt a little.
