The Split-Walker’s Oath art print
story of The Split-Walker’s Oath art print:
They found the Split-Walker standing where the road forgets its own name, half dressed in pale, peeling color and half in crumpled night, like someone couldn’t decide what kind of life to live. No face, just a smooth blank where words should land and stick. The villagers said it was a memorial to a man who went missing during a storm, but the old painter who built it swore it was a promise: if you lose yourself, you can still be carried home in pieces. Every spring, people brought branches and leaned them nearby like careful witnesses, and sometimes a green leaf would appear, stubborn and bright, on the side that looked dead. If you stood there long enough you’d hear the softest rustle, as if the statue was practicing your name, trying to say it right, trying not to let it slip away again.
